Regional Park

Built in 1972, Carlton Trail regional park is located 20 km S of Langenburg on Highway 8, and 6 km N of Spy Hill.

The park has two man-made lakes in its boundaries, one reserved for swimming, the other, South Lake, has summer cabins and is stocked for anglers. Carlton Trail Regional Park has 97 electrical sites, as well as non-electrical and overflow sites, group camping; nine-hole golf course with PGA style grass greens, golf club and cart rentals, food services, concession; lake, beach, swimming lessons, picnic area, playground, showers, modern washrooms, fishing, ball diamonds, firewood, nature and birding trails and cross-country skiing.

Reservations are taken by phone beginning May 1 and the park is open May 1 to Sep. 30. In the fall of 2006 the swimming lake was completely drained and cleaned up. Also new in 2006 was the events building and the Red River cart.
